Clients:
Philip Farrelly & Company (Agricultural Consultants), Navan, Co. Meath
Project type:
Provision of senior management, quality control and training services to a start up agri-environment consultancy division staffed with young graduates.
Project Objective:
To roll out a comprehensive REPS Planning service available countrywide to farmers
Result:
The REPS scheme was introduced in 1994. The client responded to this development with the creation of a specialised REPS planning service.
Paul provided in house training in REPS planning for newly recruited and relatively inexperienced staff. And was responsible for the technical supervision and overall quality control of agri-environment plans submitted to the Department of Agriculture.
Paul wrote "Environmental Farming - A Guide To The REPS Scheme" to help bring the REPS scheme to the general farming community. This is a comprehensive text and guide to the scheme for use by professional planners, local authorities and farmers. (Chapters 3 and 4 cover nutrient management and farm waste management in detail).
